In 2015, I returned to Joshua Tree National Park, land of yucca,... monzogranite, ...... idyllic sandy campsites, ... and desert vistas. With me were: Aleksandra,Sonia and Ken, [credit: Sonia Laszlo]Michele and Shannon,Craig, Bryan, and Iris and Stephen,Our first cold days began with a sunrise-run on the road, followed by breakfast in camp, and various activities:staying warm (e.g., hugging),scrambling,...skiing (NPS supposedly forbids this),jumping,hiking,backpacking,climbing,...... (this is Iris) ...and getting back down,(even if you're a rope).Craig learned to climband Aleksandra to lead trad.Bryan and I climbed Moosedog Tower. On days that were not unseasonably cold, we sometimes finished a bit late, before getting home for dinner.A juniper was our best wind shelter around camp, when not in our tents.I like cholla.Beautiful times and relaxation ...will bring us back one day.Goodnight!
