The entire package (ie everything below) is available as a zip file: cpblThesis.zip and it produces the following PDF: diss.pdf My claim is that if you download the zip and run the fcompile script, you should get a complete compilation.

Here are some components:

• The main source files:

• Some tables. These are separate files since I have a way to abstract many aspects of table formatting from the contents of the table (see below).

• The class files, modified slightly from Michael's classes (you need both):
  • genthesiscpbl.cls
  • ubcthesiscpbl.cls
• My own style files:
  • cpblRef.sty
  • cpblTables.sty (This is part of my system for dealing with econometric tables.)
• And, if you're running under unix, or can rig up Python, here is a script I wrote as a daemon to compile the thesis or its component papers (Invoked as "latexCompileDaemon diss" for dissertation mode) every time I saved the source in LaTeX: latexCompileDaemon.py The compiling script (why not a makefile? well...) is: fcompileThesis which bib's all the components and also fixes a little bug in the toc.

  Update: LyX file

  Jan 2010:
  Actually, at least if you are not doing a manuscript-based thesis, you can write it all in LyX.
